Surface water discharge files, 1951-1982, bulk 1962-1972.

The Division of Water Pollution Control develops and implements programs to prevent or clean up the pollution of surface and ground water in Massachusetts. Pursuant to St 1937, c 340 and St 1975, c 706, s 167, the division and its immediate predecessor in this function created files to investigate discharge of pollutants into surface waters; and to review, advise and prove public and private discharge practices and sources of water supply.
